The adventures on the farm are endless and you never really know what is going to happen each day. I have gotten to see a calf born during a lab class and help a friend move Perry, a newborn, to the calf barn from the pen where Polkadot, his mom, stayed. I never realized how much I would come to love the farm, even with waking up at 3:00 AM.
The best part of this course is getting to witness these animals grow and seeing all kinds of people walk in and have a brighter day by just spending ten minutes with a cow. During the open farm we had back in October, all kinds of people showed up and instantly there were smiles on their faces. This especially happened when they got to take pictures with the little newborn Perry who was not even a week old at this point.
After going through all the rallying of trying to get the cows back in their stalls and make some great bonds with these new friends, I will most definitely miss being with my new friends about three or four times a week. I cannot wait to see what these last four weeks bring, but all I know is it will be time well spent.
